A witness told Swedish media, “I heard her cry and plead for help after the attack. She spoke English and shouted, ‘Help me, help me!’ ”

The ceremony included the lighting of six torches, each one honoring a different group of Holocaust heroes.
“Some people say that anti-Semitism is on the rise, but perhaps it never really went away. In truth, it’s just emerging back into the light,” said Alberto Levy, a Duke University graduate from Panama.
“There is no administration, no president, no secretary of state that have committed themselves to this extent to fight anti-Semitism, to protect the Jewish people and to support the State of Israel,” said Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Elan Carr.
“From this place, I call on world leaders to fight rampant anti-Semitism erupting around the world, especially the shocking and dramatic rise of hate crimes in Europe, Latin America [and] the United States,” said Isaac Herzog, chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The delegation, which includes envoys from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and Eastern Europe, did the nearly two-mile walk from the former Nazi concentration camp of Auschwitz to Birkenau on as a tribute to all victims of the Holocaust and a call for an end to anti-Semitism.
Hosted by JNS Jerusalem Bureau Chief Alex Traiman, more than 10,000 Jewish and non-Jewish youth from 40 countries and dozens of Holocaust survivors and dignitaries from around the globe will participate in the 31st annual International March of the Living from Auschwitz to Birkenau.
In response to the torrent of anti-Semitic events and growing global trend of hate crimes against Jews, the March of the Living will host the first-ever “Emerging Leadership Conference” in Krakow, Poland for hundreds of youth from around the world who have been impacted by anti-Semitism.
The Finnish elections were held on April 14 with the Social Democratic Party of Finland winning the most seats.
