Former NFL stars Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson claimed on their “Night Cap” podcast that Jewish people “own everything” and are “the most powerful community in the world,” during a Dec. 1 episode.

Sharpe referenced the Israeli flag by describing “a white and blue flag with a star on it,” prompting Johnson to respond, “Oh, they own every damn thing.” The comments targeted Jewish livestreamer Adin Ross, who had admitted using racial slurs while listening to rap music.

Ross later downplayed the remarks during his own stream, saying he’s called antisemitic slurs daily. Neither Sharpe nor Johnson has publicly responded to the criticism.

Sharpe left ESPN this summer following a sexual assault investigation but continues to host podcasts through his Shay Shay Media company.
