Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar extended congratulations Tuesday to Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Bahraini people on the kingdom’s National Day.

In a social media post, Sa’ar praised Bahrain’s role in the Abraham Accords, saying the country demonstrated courageous leadership by joining the 2020 normalization agreement. He emphasized continued cooperation between the nations based on dialogue and partnership.

The Abraham Accords established diplomatic relations between Israel and several Arab nations, including Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Despite regional tensions during 2025, none of the Abraham Accords countries has severed ties with Israel, Sa’ar noted in November.

Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani in August received the credentials of Israeli Ambassador Shmuel Revel at the ministry’s headquarters in Manama, signaling revived ties.
