The meeting with Biden will likely be attended by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, according to State Dept. spokesman Matthew Miller.
In a call to a Kamala Harris campaign event, the U.S. president says he thinks “we’re on the verge” of getting all the captives home.
Her aide said that she had a previously scheduled appointment and that it doesn’t reflect a change in her position toward Israel.

“This will be an opportunity to thank [Biden] for the things he did for Israel in the war and during his long and distinguished career in public service,” said the Israeli premier.
The Israeli prime minister is also expected to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris, who Biden endorsed to replace him at the top of the Democratic ticket.
