U.S. President Joe Biden’s attempt to cobble together some kind of Israeli-Saudi normalization deal before the 2024 American election is, it seems to me, doomed to fail. It feels like Joe has been led astray by Tom Friedman at the New York Times.

Unfortunately, that Friedman has the U.S. president’s ear (and the trust of a great many American Jews) is not doing us much good. That he is working hard to depose the democratically elected government of the Jewish state is beyond the pale.

Political cartoonist Yaakov Kirschen grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., made aliyah to Israel in 1971 and began drawing “Dry Bones” in January 1973. The internationally syndicated, award-winning cartoons ran in The Jerusalem Post for 50 years. They were reprinted in The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, TIME and other mainstream media publications. The “Dry Bones” story has been covered by CBS, CNN and Forbes, among other outlets. He was a member of America’s National Cartoonists Society and the Israeli Cartoonists Society. Kirschen died at 87 on April 14, 2025.
Rubio said the release marks a step toward ending the Taliban’s “practice of hostage diplomacy.”
Chabad organizers said the program reflects a shift from combating antisemitism to giving young Jews “something to be proud of.”

“This effort is about specifically using academic resources in ways that others haven’t,” Alan Kadish, the university president, told JNS.
