Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Israel’s Channel 14 on Monday that “Iran tried to murder one of my sons.”
Netanyahu has two sons, Yair and Avner. He did not specify which one was targeted.
According to Fox News, the Shin Bet had extended its protection services to Netanyahu’s two sons and his wife, Sara Netanyahu, in July.
“This is why this promise I am making is more than a luxury,” Netanyahu told Channel 14, per Fox. “Without it, they could succeed. People need to show some restraint, especially during an election campaign.”
