The committee will advise the state on a permanent memorial at Albany’s Empire State Plaza, as the governor pledged to protect Jewish New Yorkers amid rising antisemitism.
“They will push legislation very hard to end the Iran war, and it’s not inconceivable that they could get a fair amount of Republican support for that,” William Galston of Brookings told JNS.
According to city data, Jews, who make up an estimated 3.8% of Chicago residents, have been the targets of 81% of religion-based hate crimes in the Windy City this year.
“The effect is to make the grief feel qualified, and the soldiers’ murders worth qualifying,” Vicki Kolomensky told JNS.
“Our partnership transcends any one leader or political party,” the Jewish Democratic congressman from New Jersey said.
Manhattan Jewish elected officials, including Rep. Jerry Nadler and City Council speaker Julie Menin, endorsed the New York attorney general’s reelection bid.
Morton Klein, of ZOA, told JNS that some officials can’t “condemn horrific antisemitic acts without including a condemnation of other non-Jewish hateful acts.”
“We’re not just building a warehouse,” David Greenfield, CEO of the Met Council, told JNS. “We’re building the infrastructure to fight poverty on a much larger scale.”
“You’ve got the Republican Party that is obviously trending in a dangerous direction and you’ve got the Democratic Party that is trending in a dangerous direction,” a Democratic consultant and strategist told JNS.
“Abdul can’t condemn this disgusting antisemitic ad,” Democrats for Mike Rogers stated. “It’s disqualifying.”
Professor and author Gad Saad criticized the Jewish entertainer’s endorsement, calling him a “degenerate, clueless, self-loathing imbecile.”
There’s no place in the Senate for a “terror apologist who justified the attempted murder of 110 Jewish preschoolers as ‘hurt people hurt people,’” Arie Lipnick of CAM-Action told JNS.
