Sirens sounded in Israel’s south, Arava Desert, and Dead Sea areas as Israel intercepted two Houthi missiles launched early Saturday and Sunday.
The projectile was “likely” intercepted, according to the IDF • No injuries or damage reported.
Houthi commanders are dead and their military infrastructure is crippled, according to the information minister of Sanaa’s recognized government.
The attacks follow strikes late last week aimed at destroying the Houthi-controlled Ras Isa fuel port.
U.S. CENTCOM strikes reportedly killed some 38 people in Yemen amid the destruction of the Ras Isa fuel port.
“The objective of these strikes was to degrade the economic source of power of the Houthis,” read a statement issued by the U.S. Central Command.
The International Bank of Yemen “provides the terrorist group access” to the global banking system, the U.S. Treasury Department stated.
While the American air campaign has degraded up to a third of Houthi capabilities, eliminating the threat from Yemen would require a ground effort, Israeli observers say.
The Israeli military said that attempts to intercept the missile were likely successful.
They also discussed a Gaza ceasefire, Red Sea security and deepening bilateral cooperation.
Yemen’s Houthi terrorists said they attacked an “Israeli military target” in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa region using a “Jaffa” suicide drone.
The Iranian-backed Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, which allegedly targeted a site in Tel Aviv.
