American lawsuits challenge Palestinian terror and campus hate

“Basic Law” with Aylana Meisel and guest Mark  Goldfeder, Ep. 29

In this episode of “Basic Law,” host Aylana Meisel, Executive Director of the Israel Law and Liberty Forum, sits down with Rabbi Dr. Mark  Goldfeder, Founder of the National Jewish Advocacy Center, to discuss the extraordinary lawsuits now reshaping the conversation on terrorism and antisemitism in America.

At the center of the discussion is a landmark case brought by the family of Taylor Force, a murdered U.S. Army veteran, accusing the Palestinian Authority of continuing its notorious “pay‑for‑slay” program, paying monthly stipends to convicted terrorists and their families. Goldfeder explains how this case, built on the Anti‑Terrorism Act and the Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act, could hold the PA and PLO financially accountable for incentivizing murder.

The conversation expands to a wave of new legal actions targeting groups like Students for Justice in Palestine, UNRWA USA, Binance and the Associated Press. These entities are alleged to have aided or abetted Hamas through financing, propaganda or coordination. Rabbi Goldfeder reveals how his organization is using civil law to confront anti‑Jewish hate and how the FACE Act and Civil Rights Act of 1866 are being repurposed to protect America’s Jewish communities and institutions.

Together, Meisel and Goldfeder explore how American law is becoming an unexpected front line in defending Jewish life, confronting anti‑Semitism and redefining what “material support for terrorism” means in the post‑Oct. 7 world.
