Chassidic man punched in face outside Kew Gardens Hills synagogue

The victim suffered a bruise but did not need medical attention.

An unknown individual in Queens, N.Y., assaulted a 19-year-old Chassidic man. 

Police report that on Oct. 5 at around 2:40 p.m. outside of Congregation B’Nei Abraham-EF in the neighborhood of Kew Gardens Hills, someone punched the unidentified man in the face and then fled.

The attack left a bruise but the victim, who was wearing traditional Chassidic clothing as he walked on Shabbat, did not need medical attention.

Surveillance video released by police shows a suspect wearing a gray T-shirt and a black baseball cap. He was shown smoking before he struck his victim.

The FBI’s NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force started an investigation into the crime and requested the public’s assistance in identifying the assailant.
