Israeli duo wins gold in wheelchair dance championship

Israeli wheelchair ballroom dancers Tomer Margalit and Orel Chalaf captured the gold cup at the World Championship in Slovakia, marking a significant achievement for the pair in international competition. The victory culminated with Israel’s national anthem, “Hatikva,” playing during the medal ceremony.

The 2025 Para Dance Sport World Championships ran from Nov. 21-23 in Kosice.

The win represents a milestone for adaptive dance on the global stage. Wheelchair ballroom dancing combines technical precision and artistic expression, with competitors performing traditional ballroom styles adapted for wheelchair users.
