“The Devil Next Door” tells the story of retired U.S. autoworker John Demjanjuk, who was convicted in 2011 by a German court for being a Nazi death-camp guard during the Holocaust.
The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous posthumously recognized U.S. Army Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds in 2016 with its Yehi Or Award.
These tragedies teach “how hate can proliferate and erode societies” and serve as a “reminder that the United States must advance global efforts to ensure that barbarism and mass murder never occur again.”
“In this place, thousands of Jews prayed. ... These walls speak of emotions, telling the story of a community that turned to ashes, and stood up again and was revived,” said Rabbi Yitshak Ehrenberg of the Central Orthodox Synagogue of Berlin.
The “Sciesopoli Ebraica–Children’s home of Selvino” museum tells the remarkable story of some 800 Jewish orphans who were sheltered after the Holocaust in the Alpine town of Selvino before ultimately immigrating to Mandatory Palestine.

The board voted 5-2 with “just cause” to terminate the employment of Spanish River Community High School principal William Latson.
