WATCH: EuroLeague basketball returns to Israel after two-year absence

Israeli guitarist Avi Singolda performed “Hatikvah” on court as EuroLeague basketball returned to Tel Aviv after two years, marking an emotional homecoming for players, fans and families.

Maccabi Tel Aviv defeated ASVEL Villeurbanne 92-84 in the regular season match at a packed Menora Mivtachim Arena (aka the Yad Eliyahu Arena) on Dec. 11, with a sea of yellow and blue in the stands.

“Here, we have the possibility of excavating the remains of this culture in a single layer.”
