Shurat HaDin NGO asks court to block Rep. Omar from entering Israel
A 2017 Israeli law allows the state to block foreigners that promote BDS from entering the country. However, Israel has already said it will allow Omar to enter the country out of respect for the U.S. Congress.
Families of terror victims and the Shurat Hadin Israel Law Center are filing a lawsuit in France to confiscate Iranian funds passing through INSTEX, a mechanism established by Germany, Great Britain and France to bypass U.S. sanctions against Iran.
The court gave the order on behalf of terror victims who filed a civil-damages lawsuit against the Palestinian Authority and Arafat’s estate.
“Fundraising is oxygen to terrorists; we will use every legal way possible to choke off every platform they use to raise funds,” said Shurat HaDin president Nitsana Darshan-Leitner.
“We have strict guidelines on who we work with, and that’s simply not just what we do, but across the U.S. government,” said USAID administrator Mark Green. “We follow administration policy.”
“Iran is a state that finances and carries out terrorism,” said Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the president and founder of Shurat HaDin, the Israeli legal advocacy organization that is representing the families.
