Mike Johnson accused the president of pandering to the far-left flank of the Democratic Party at the expense of US-Israel relations.
The U.S. secretary of state also told Israel not to make mistakes anymore and to enact changes “quickly” and sustainably “over time.”
Senior U.S. officials believe that political considerations are at play in the pronouncement.
“If Hitler were alive today, he would be singing the U.N.’s praises,” said Israeli envoy Gilad Erdan.
