The president departed for the United States after securing economic deals in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
“If the Saudis want peace for peace, with a maximized win-win for everyone, we’re very happy about that,” said the Israeli finance minister.
Various diplomatic efforts underway “will have some or a lot of announcements very, very shortly,” said U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
Netanyahu thanked Azerbaijani President Aliyev for the invitation, adding that the trip will be rescheduled.
Jerusalem’s ambassador emphasized aspirations for expanding the Abraham Accords.
The U.S. president further denied reports that Washington blocked an Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic.
“We discussed the full range of regional issues, as well as furthering bilateral relations between our countries,” Gideon Sa’ar said.
The change could boost efforts to expand the accords, as the Kushner-founded think tank is linked closely to the Trump White House.
“What’s needed now is an end to the war and an end to the threats of Iran and its proxies. From there, the path is paved (albeit with many bumps and potholes) for a new Middle East.”
“It fits nicely within the Jewish community,” David Meubauei, who owns a kosher ice cream shop in Brooklyn, told JNS.
“Our visit to the UAE is proof of the regional shift and the need for fresh thinking,” said Yesha Council head Israel Ganz.
“Lebanon could actually normalize and come into the Abraham peace accords, as could even potentially Syria,” Steve Witkoff told attendees at an AJC event.
