The Israeli government has approved the appointment of 11 ambassadors and consuls, including Shmuel Revel as the next envoy to Bahrain, subject to approval by Manama.
Revel, who previously served as ambassador to Cyprus and as a trade officer in Qatar, will succeed Eitan Na’eh, Israel’s first envoy to Bahrain following the normalization of relations under the 2021 Abraham Accords.
While Bahrain recalled its envoy during Israel’s Swords of Iron war against Hamas in Gaza, diplomatic ties between the two nations remain stable.
Other notable appointments include Ronen Kraus as ambassador to Azerbaijan, Eliaz Luf as consul in Montreal, Elad Strohmayer as consul in Chicago, and Eitan Weiss as consul in Atlanta.
