IDF probing attempted stabbing at base in Beit Guvrin

The incident occurred at the entrance to the military facility.

The Israel Defense Forces is investigating an attempted stabbing at a military base in Beit Guvrin on Monday.

A contractor working at the Lachish training base was neutralized by an IDF officer after attempting to carry out a stabbing attack, according to the military.

There were no injuries caused, and the details are under investigation, the IDF said.

The assailant is a resident of the Arab town of Reineh in the Lower Galilee, according to Israel’s Kan News.

No weapon was found on the suspect, Kan reported.

The IDF spokesperson confirmed that an initial report had been received about a suspected terrorist attack and that the details were being investigated.
