“We already have demonstrated that hate and hateful acts are not going to be tolerated, and so if we could even take it a step further to define antisemitism and what that is like, then I want to be able to take that,” Jeannette Sánchez-Palacios told JNS.
“That needs to be brought up in any public safety conversation,” Inna Vernikov, a Jewish member of the council, told JNS.
Brandon Johnson mentioned the pro-Israel group despite it having never “spent a dime opposing you or any other candidate for local office,” the Jewish United Fund of Chicago wrote to the mayor.
‘I’m never going to forget this davening, two days or three days before Yom Kippur, where we’re again saying, ‘We’re here,’” Rabbi Haskel Lookstein told JNS.
“We’re all going to be in shul on Monday, and there isn’t going to be a shul in the world, no matter how small the minyan or how large the minyan, that doesn’t have somebody at the door guarding people, checking who comes in,” Deborah Lipstadt told JNS.
“That’s how we combat antisemitism,” Rabbi Rachel Short told JNS. “We let people see who we are and what we do.”
City Hall is making “a mockery of open government, at least when it comes to the administration’s relationship with the Jewish community,” attorney Jack Lester told JNS.
“Michiganders deserve solutions, not slogans—and that’s exactly what Mike will bring to the U.S. Senate,” Alyssa Brouillet, communications director for the Rogers campaign, told JNS.
“A region already gripped by conflict and escalation does not need another nuclear power,” the four Democratic congressmen stated.
The vice president is reportedly engaged in a broader effort to mend ties with Republican Jews.
Rabbi Itchel Krasnjansky of Chabad in Hawaii told JNS that “we don’t experience really any antisemitism, besides for the pro-Palestinian crap that goes on here, like everywhere else.”
“This bill works very hard to balance our First Amendment constitutional rights between the right to free speech and the right to worship,” Rep. Tom Suozzi said.
