Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has warned that there will be “consequences” for members of the U.N. Security Council if they back an extension.
“The status quo in Lebanon is unacceptable,” says U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Kelly Craft. “Now is the time to ... enable the [peacekeeping] mission to fully achieve what it was set out to accomplish.”
At the same time, six Arab countries have called on the United Nations to extend its arms embargo on Iran.
The call comes as the United States is set to introduce a resolution to extend the U.N. arms embargo on Iran, which will expire on Oct. 18.
While the U.N. database has no legal teeth, nevertheless, it is a blatant attempt to harm companies maintaining commercial relations in the territories, and in so doing, to harm Israel.

Miguel Morantinos, a former Spanish Foreign Affairs minister, will be responsible for enhancing a system-wide response to bias.

The plan calls for giving budgetary support to companies that engage in sustainability and other environmentally friendly activities.
The tour, which included a visit to a Hezbollah attack tunnel, was part of an effort to stress the need for the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon to “fulfill its duty without restrictions.”
