Masa Israel Journey, founded by the government of Israel and The Jewish Agency announced that registration has opened for its MasaTech program, an initiative that connects tech professionals with competitive jobs in Israel’s rapidly growing technology industry.
MasaTech addresses two needs in Israel and the wider Jewish world: high-skilled young adults are provided with fulfilling career opportunities and relocation assistance while Israel’s flourishing technology sector receives a fresh slate of enthusiastic employees.
“We’re proud to offer skilled young adults a direct path into Israel’s expansive high-tech scene,” said Masa CEO Ofer Gutman. “This program is a great example of Masa’s unique ability to connect Jews around the world with Israel through programs that empower them to meet each other’s social, cultural, and economic interests. We’re excited to support another group of MasaTech Fellows as they relocate to Israel.”
Masa provides a wide range of benefits to MasaTech Fellows. These include at least 10 months of guaranteed, full-time, English-based employment with a competitive salary, a work visa for the length of the program with up to four years of potential extension time, social and cultural experiences to enhance Fellows’ time in Israel, and exclusive networking opportunities to deepen Fellows’ connections to Israel and its high-tech industry.
“You do feel a sense of home here,” said Marco Lerena, a MasaTech Fellow from South Africa working as a full stack developer at Hyro, a Tel Aviv-based start-up. “Taking this move [was] big on a personal level…you feel like you’re taking more control of your life.”
“The Israeli high-tech industry is huge,” said Fabián Wolfmann, 26, who left his previous job as a machine learning engineer in Argentina and joined the NLP group in Citi Innovation Lab TLV through MasaTech. “The ideas, tools, software, and companies that emerge here affect the entire world, placing Israel at the top. My ambition is to be part of it.”
MasaTech applications are open for candidates with at least three years of experience working in tech-related fields including software and hardware development, AI, big data, quality assurance, biotech, cybersecurity, developmental operations, IT, business, marketing, supportive technology, and many others.
There are currently more than 10,000 Masa Fellows engaged in long-term, immersive experiences in Israel, with thousands more expected to arrive throughout this programming year.
