The Zionist Rabbinic Coalition (ZRC), a coalition of several hundred rabbis from all movements throughout North America will hold its second annual conference from Aug. 14-16 in Washington, D.C.

The theme will be “Advocating for Israel: More Challenging and More Important Than Ever.” The program will feature interactive sessions where rabbis will hear from experts and discuss and process what is going on in Israel and in their communities. Sessions will also focus on themes related to the upcoming High Holidays, culminating with a luncheon at the Israeli Embassy with Ambassador Michael Herzog, whose first appearance before an American Jewish organization was at the ZRC’s first conference.

The conference is being held a little more than a month after a delegation of the leaders of the ZRC visited the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel as guests of the governments. There, they held a series of high-level meetings with leaders of all three countries, including Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, other ministers and leaders of the opposition.
