Campus Antisemitism

Kenneth L. Marcus, of the Brandeis Center, told JNS that it is “notable” that the Education Department has not said that it is winding down its office that probes alleged Jew-hatred.
The private school in Washington, D.C., has been accused of “pervasive and severe” Jew-hatred since Oct. 7.
Gerard Filitti, of the Lawfare Project, told JNS that the decision “does nothing to safeguard the students.”
“Justice has been served for our clients’ family,” the Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law said.
Jewish community leaders decry the vote as dangerously uninformed, warning it reflects rising anti-Israel bias among future British elites.
Sara Coodin, of the AJC, told JNS that such claims “hew closely to the classic antisemitic canards of Jewish power, malicious influence and control.”
“My hope for Heritage is that it will be unbending and unflinching in its fidelity to its founding vision,” including the “principles of the Judeo-Christian tradition,” Robert P. George said.
Samar Maqusi was filmed telling students to “draw their own narrative” on the claims Jews killed a priest in Damascus for his blood.
“It is categorically unacceptable and antisemitism has no place on our campus,” a university spokesperson told JNS on Saturday when asked for comment.
An informatics professor in New Jersey told JNS that the trip gave her an “even greater conviction and deep appreciation for the absolute miracle of Israel.”

Brown has “taken significant, proactive, effective steps to combat antisemitism,” a university spokesperson told JNS.
