Leo Terrell, who chairs the U.S. Justice Department’s task force on Jew-hatred, said the anti-Israel student group is forcing Jews to “choose between defending their Zionist identities or observing their religion.”
“Anyone who crosses the line between peaceful protest and violence will be met with the full force of the law,” according to the Justice Department.
“Why would BU, which has an honorable reputation otherwise, allow someone who publishes violent social media posts about Jews to be held out as an anti-bigotry fellow,” Douglas Hauer-Gilad told JNS.
A school official said the incident “is abhorrent.” The local district attorney said it’s “not a foolish college prank and will not be treated as such.”
A spokeswoman for Fairleigh Dickinson University told JNS that it denies the allegations “categorically.”
“Resolutions voted on by the Student Government Association are student-led and reflect perspectives of voting members of the SGA,” a spokeswoman for the public school told JNS.
The six candidates for California governor, out of nine, who responded to questions from JNS said they agree with the bill.
“We dodged protests erupting on campus, urging students to vote a certain way,” Joel Harris, a UConn student senator, told JNS.
Graffiti included references to “death to the IDF” and “globalize the intifada.”
An immigration judge ordered Mahmoud Khalil’s deportation to Syria or Algeria, agreeing with the Trump administration that the Columbia graduate’s failure to include pertinent information on his green card application is grounds for revocation.
