“It’s time to hold accountable organizations whose traitorous efforts to block arms sales to Israel endanger Jewish lives,” the group’s leaders say.
“J Street should now be persona non grata in the Jewish community,” Morton Klein, national president of ZOA, told JNS.
The NGO urged the White House to take “all necessary steps” to stop Israel from launching a large-scale operation against Hamas in Rafah.
“We probably will not change our endorsements in mid-cycle,” acknowledged J Street President Jeremy Ben-Ami.
The left-leaning organization has condemned Hamas and its supporters extensively, and has been critical of some of Israel’s military decisions.
It also named diplomat Jon Greenwald; former Recording Industry Association CEO Cary Sherman; and John Yarmuth, a former congressman, to the board, which the investor Peter Frey will chair.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), a frequent Israel opponent, was among those who claimed that Israeli border policies are unfair to Palestinian Americans.

The Dec. 4 event will feature discussion on “the future of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East, and the liberal Jewish community’s struggle to confront extremism.”
While a different poll conducted by the liberal Jewish lobby J Street found that Republicans received 25% of the Jewish vote in the 2022 midterm elections, the Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) tweeted that the poll released by Fox News is the “gold standard” because it is a network exit poll and “more reflective of the national Jewish vote.”
“We need to change our policies when it comes to the State of Israel. We desperately need to look at it [through] a different lens,” Tlaib told Al Jazeera.
