Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commended Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas, on his confirmation to be U.S. ambassador to Israel.
“Congratulations to my dear friend Mike Huckabee upon being confirmed as the next ambassador of the United States to Israel,” the prime minister stated on Wednesday. “This is a great day for the Israeli-American alliance.”
“I look forward to working with you to make the unbreakable bond between our two nations even stronger,” he added.
Huckabee thanked Netanyahu in response and stated, “I look forward to working with you as we pray for the ‘Peace of Jerusalem!’”
The U.S. Senate voted 53-46 on Wednesday to confirm Huckabee. Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) was the sole Democrat to back his confirmation.
