Yair Lapid calls U.S. president “one of the closest friends that Israel has ever had in American politics,” extends olive branch to Saudi Arabia and other regional countries.
According to AJC Asia Pacific Institute chair Jeffrey Stone, “Japan is a democratic powerhouse in Asia, an essential ally and partner of the United States, a close friend of Israel and an anchor of stability in a vital part of the world.”
The development comes as a Japanese envoy, led by the country’s Economy, Trade and Industry minister Hiroshige Seko, visited Israel.
