“Israel will do all in its power to assist the U.S. government in stopping Iran’s malign activities and aspirations,” said Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan.
The warning by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo came one day after the United States initiated the mechanism for the U.N. Security Council to snapback sanctions on Iran.
“Anyone against snapback is for Chinese and Russian arms sales to Iran to threaten America, Israel and other U.S. allies,” said Richard Goldberg, a senior advisor at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.
Enacting them would include extending the arms embargo on Tehran indefinitely, following the Aug. 14 rejection by the U.N. Security Council of the U.S.-led resolution to extend it.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is set to travel to New York to notify the U.N. Security Council that America is invoking snapback.
Supermarket and telecoms magnate Rami Levy files suit over claims his company violates international law by operating in Judea and Samaria.
Hezbollah is “grossly violating international law” while growing in strength and arming itself with precision weapons, says IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi.
Growing claims that it has always been biased against Israel are prompting the re-evaluation of its effectiveness and even use.
Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan provided an intelligence photo showing terrorist cell’s route from Lebanon to the Mount Dov area in Israel.
The Russian effort comes as the U.N. Security Council rejected on Friday a U.S.-led resolution to indefinitely extend the U.N. arms embargo on Iran, which is set to expire on Oct. 18.
AIPAC said the decision “dangerously serves to further empower the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism.”
“We’ll be doing a snapback. You’ll be watching it next week,” says the U.S. president.
