“Her ability to transform systems, strengthen teams and amplify mission will play a defining role as we reimagine what AJU can be for the next generation,” said Jay Sanderson, president of American Jewish University.
Jews rely on armed guards for prayer services, a reality that no other faith community in North America would accept.
More than 100 synagogues, schools and community groups joined the effort, bringing the warmth of the holiday to homes across the United States.
The respite program offered the chance to rebuild confidence and rediscover the feeling of being safe post-Oct. 7.
“The growing number of people who require prostheses across the country has led to an incredibly high demand for truly knowledgeable professionals,” said Dr. Itzhak Siev-Ner.
“We’re in a real Chanukah moment because we are asking ourselves who we are, who we want to be and what we want to project to the world,” said Rachel Goldberg-Polin.
The free event is hosted by Congregation Mikveh Israel in partnership with the Free Library of Philadelphia.
By framing Israel as immoral, activists label those who support it as morally compromised as well.
