Ford Motor Company to scout for technologies in Israel

Ford will meet with officials from automotive chipmaker Mobileye and autonomous vehicles firm Karamba Security Ltd.

Ford Motor Company executive chairman Bill Ford is scheduled to be in Israel in two weeks, reported Calcalist, citing someone familiar with the development.

The chairman, whose great-grandfather was founder Henry Ford, “will scout for technologies in the fields of artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and cybersecurity,” according to the outlet.

Ford will meet with officials from automotive chipmaker Mobileye and autonomous vehicles firm Karamba Security Ltd.

The auto manufacturer invested $12.5 million last year in its Israeli subsidiary, SAIPS AC Ltd., to create a decision-making structure for autonomous vehicles.

The Israel Defense Forces said the projectiles were intercepted or struck open areas.
