Tel Aviv’s Ayalon Highway was partially shut down during the morning rush hour on Monday after a grenade was spotted on the road, according to police.

“A short time ago, traffic police found a grenade on the side of Route 20,” a statement read.

Sappers were dispatched to the scene.

The grenade was reportedly found near the Rokach Interchange.

It was not immediately clear where the grenade originated from.

This is a developing story.
