U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee condemned the car-ramming attack on Chabad world headquarters in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Wednesday night, calling it a “reprehensible” act and warning of the “poisonous hatred” of antisemitism.

“Chabad is a pillar of the Jewish community in America. The poisonous hatred of antisemitism is pure evil. This cancerous bigotry toward Jewish people today is toward Christians tomorrow,” the Baptist minister wrote in an X post on Thursday.

New York City Police Department officers arrested a man who repeatedly rammed his car into an entrance to the building at 770 Eastern Parkway on Wednesday night. No injuries were reported.

The World Jewish Congress called it a “miracle” that there were no injuries, noting in an X post on Thursday that “Jews in New York and across America have been targeted by hate at a greater rate than any other group in recent years,” and included a call to action “for political leaders and law enforcement to band together and draw a line in the sand against antisemitism. Enough is enough.”
