One person was reportedly killed on Tuesday during clashes between local Palestinians and Israeli forces in Sa’ir, near Hebron.
Israeli forces were attacked after entering the village to map for demolition the home of the terrorist responsible for the murder of an Israeli police officer a day earlier, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
Sgt. Elisheva Rose Ida Lubin, 20, was seriously wounded in a stabbing near Herod’s Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City and later succumbed to her wounds. Another officer was moderately wounded in the attack.

The 16-year-old terrorist was killed by police at the scene of the attack, which was adjacent to a police station.
During the operation in Sa’ir, rioters threw stones and fire bombs at Israeli forces, who returned fire, according to the IDF. Palestinian media reported that one person was killed in the clashes. The Israeli military reported only that “hits were identified.”
Lubin immigrated from the United States in August 2021, and was drafted into the police force in March of the following year. She was from Kibbutz Sa’ad near the Gaza border.
Fifty-nine Israeli police officers have been killed since Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion.
Overnight Monday, Israeli forces arrested 28 terror suspects in Judea and Samaria, including 11 Hamas members, according to the military.
A number of explosives and ready-to-use explosive devices were located during a counterterror operation in the Tulkarm camp, the IDF said. During the raid, Israeli forces were attacked with explosive devices and fired on. They returned fire, and a number of hits were identified, according to the military.
Armed terrorists threatening Israeli forces were also hit by an IDF aircraft during the raid.
Several weapons were seized in Beit Fajjar and Faqqu’a.
More than 1,350 terror suspects, including over 870 Hamas members, have been arrested in Judea and Samaria since Hamas’s Oct. 7 invasion of southern Israel.
