The U.S. defense secretary told a House committee that Israel had killed more than 25,000 Palestinian women and children.
“It is now more important than ever that the American people hear from you directly in a public setting,” the Republican letter says.
“Father Time remains undefeated,” McConnell said. “It is time for the next generation of leadership.”

The Biden administration provided the letter requiring Israel’s signature on Tuesday.
Biden said that the Jewish state’s “incredibly conservative government” risked losing it international support.
“We do think it’s possible, and we’re going to continue to push for it,” said Matthew Miller, the U.S. State Department spokesman, of a ceasefire deal.
