Chazaq to host Miami gala dinner to strengthen Jewish education in South Florida

Philanthropists, educators, friends and local leaders will gather on Jan. 11 to help boost opportunities for the next generation of Jewish leadership.

The Jan. 11 program will highlight Chazaq’s mission of inspiring Jewish pride and continuity through its wide network of after-school programs, youth initiatives and groundbreaking work transferring public school students into Jewish day schools. More than 10,000 public school students have been touched by Chazaq programs and services, with more than 2,200 transferred to Jewish day schools across America.

The evening event will also recognize visionary supporters whose commitment has enabled Chazaq to expand into multiple communities to ensure that every child has access to meaningful Jewish education and positive role models.

Honorees include Rafael Ilishayev, co-founder and co-CEO of Gopuff; Kobi Karp, known for his architectural masterpieces; Shalom Zirkiev, founder of Rock Real group; Michael Farah, founder of Dr. Mobicare; and NBA All-Star legend Amar’e Staudamire, whose journey to a life of spirituality has inspired people across the globe.

The night will be uplifted by the presence of the Sephardi chief rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Yosef, whose powerful guidance and unwavering support for Chazaq’s mission have touched communities worldwide.

Each honoree represents courage, leadership and a shared belief: No Jewish child should ever feel disconnected from their faith or future.

“Our foreign agent laws are designed to address situations just like this, and we must ensure accountability in order to protect the interests of students,” stated Kenneth Marcus, of the center.
“Many of these communities are experiencing real antisemitism,” Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky told JNS following the Mykonos summit focused on security and outreach.
The ruling was issued as part of a legal battle over Gov. Greg Abbott’s designation of the organization as a foreign terrorist entity.
