Gal Gadot set for lead role in feature based on bestselling novel

Recovery Agent by author Janet Evanovich will be produced by Hollywood giant Paramount Pictures and Gadot’s production firm.

Actress Gal Gadot is set to star in the film adaptation of the bestselling “Recovery Agent” book series by Janet Evanovich, after its feature rights were acquired by Paramount Pictures, Deadline reported on Wednesday.

Gadot and partner Jaron Varsano are set to co-produce the project, alongside Paramount, Carol Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz.

“The Recovery Agent: A New Adventure Begins” was released in 2022 and, together with its sequel, “The King’s Ransom,” published in 2025, has become an instant bestseller.

The novels revolve around protagonist Gabriela Rose, a recovery agent who is hired to seek lost treasures, stolen heirlooms, or missing assets of any kind. Her latest job, however, is related to her own family. Needing to accrue a large sum of money and fast, she partners with her ex-husband Rafer Burke, bouncing from the jungles of Peru to international hotspots, outsmarting criminals and law enforcement alike.

Evanovich has written 46 New York Times bestsellers over the past 28 years and has sold over 200 million books globally.
