Nefesh B’Nefesh

The MedEx campaign aims to recruit 2,000 physicians to address Israel’s shortage.
More than 200 olim landed at Ben-Gurion Airport in the last week of 2023.
The organization bestowed its Maor Youth Prize to the young olim for making an impact on Israel.
“We’ve had 200 applications for aliyah in the last two weeks,” says Yael Katsman of Nefesh B’Nefesh.
More than 29,000 new olim arrived in the first half of the year.
”The goal to increase the number of medical personnel, specifically in the Negev and Galilee regions ,is modern-day Zionism at work,” says Negev, Galilee and national resilience minister.
The North American olim include 1,424 families, 907 children, 981 single men and women, and 697 retirees.
In attendance were 2,500 active lone soldiers from 70 countries, representatives from various ministries and senior IDF commanders.
The Jerusalem Municipality and Nefesh B’Nefesh co-hosted efforts to assist potential olim who intend to immigrate to Jerusalem.
“The partnerships that Nefesh B’Nefesh has established are critical in ensuring that olim are able to integrate and excel in Israeli society following their aliyah,” said public-relations and communication director Yael Katsman.
“I am really looking forward to beginning this new chapter of my life here in Israel as a future physician in the Israeli medical system,” said Sam Leeman.
The group of new immigrants included 31 families, 99 children, seven retirees and 40 soldiers who will serve in the Israel Defense Forces.
