The terrorist group has reportedly asked for personal guarantees from the Trump administration that Israel will honor the agreement.
In a symbolic gesture of redemption, hundreds sang for the abductees at the Nova Festival Victims Memorial site near the Gaza border.
Israel was set to redeem the remaining 48 captives held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
“While decent people are still mourning ... Palestinians in Gaza are opening a restaurant celebrating the massacre,” tweeted the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
The second phase could create a “bottleneck” leading to resumption of war, said former Israeli national security advisor Yaakov Amidror.
Those who have been held captive for so long and deprived of so much might require support for the rest of their lives.
The hostages were received by the International Committee of the Red Cross, which transferred them to the Israel Defense Forces.
“Ichilov Medical Center is preparing to receive our hostages with open and professional hands,” Isaac Herzog said.
“This wasn’t a ‘spontaneous uprising.’ It was a scripted campaign for the destruction of Israel—planned, rehearsed and executed,” said Israel’s Foreign Ministry.
The Religious Services Ministry will assist the families in holding funerals for the murdered captives.
