Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed the latest move by the Trump administration to increase economic pressure on the “Iranian terror regime.”

It has agreed to sell some of the gas to Israeli power producer I.P.M. Beer Tuvia in a 19-year deal expected to earn Energean $900 million.

“I’ve decided that we are going to actually establish ‘Beresheet 2,’ ” SpaceIL chairman Morris Kahn said in a video released by SpaceIL. “We’re actually going to build a new [spacecraft], we’re going to put it on the moon, and we are going to complete the mission.”

This team’s ability to build a lunar lander for $100 million and less than 50 engineers is remarkable, a leap forward towards affordable and accessible space exploration,” said XPRIZE executive chairman and founder Peter Diamandis.
Israeli President Reuven Rivlin reassured children at his residence that, despite the ending, the mission was successful for Israel, calling it “a big and excellent achievement—that has not yet been accomplished.”
“Beresheet” will be the smallest spacecraft to land on the moon at just 4.9 feet tall and 6.56 feet wide, weighing 1,323 pounds—75 percent of which is fuel. On the outside, it features the names of its makers and sponsors, an Israeli flag, and the words “Am Yisrael Chai.”
“Sitting here are the presidents of the Israeli and American national academies,” said Israeli President Reuven Rivlin. “Both are well-known researchers, highly respected in their fields, and both are women.”
During its lunar orbit, “Beresheet” will be at its nearest point to the moon at 292 miles from the lunar surface and the farthest from the moon at 6,462 miles.
It will perform a complex maneuver to enter the moon’s gravity, called lunar capture, and start orbiting the moon ahead of its scheduled landing on April 11.
