Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity

Elie Wiesel and his wife, Marion, established the Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity soon after he was awarded the 1986 Nobel Prize for Peace. For more than 30 years, the foundation’s mission—rooted in the memory of the Holocaust—has been to combat indifference, intolerance and injustice through international dialogue and youth-focused programs that promote acceptance, understanding and equality.
“This treasure trove of artifacts is a game-changer for the museum, St. Petersburg and our entire region,” said Michael Igel, board chairman of the Florida Holocaust Museum.
The late Elie Wiesel’s son and wife, Elisha and Marion Wiesel, will oversee a hybrid approach involving both financial backing and advocacy for human rights grantees.
