To commemorate the events of Oct. 7, the American Zionist Movement has launched a social-media campaign to honor the memory of those killed on that day and throughout the war.
Included are graphics the public can use in October through the Hebrew anniversary of 10.7.2023, marked in Israel this year on the Hebrew date of 25 Tishrei (Oct. 27).
The campaign is centered around a graphic featuring the number 7, the yellow hostage ribbon and the calanit (anemone), Israel’s national flower that has stood as a symbol of resilience since Oct. 7. Together, they represent the spirit of Israel and the strength of the Jewish people.

“In the past year, we have all realized the importance of online remembrances of the victims of Oct. 7, our hostages, IDF soldiers and Israeli resilience,” said executive director Herbert Block. “Social media is an important part of the digital fight for Israel and the Jewish people.”
AZM, he continued, is “offering a simple way for every individual, school, organization, congregation and community to publicly remember by posting and sharing an image on the social media accounts or changing their profile picture. This can be done from 10/7 through the end of the month, as the Hebrew anniversary of 10.7.23 will be commemorated in Israel this year on 25 Tishrei (Sunday 10/27). Through a shared digital presence, we can amplify the message of unity and hope during this difficult time.”
