The partnership is an “indication that elected officials are taking seriously the unprecedented increase in anti-Jewish incidents occurring in schools across our country,” Brandy Shufutinsky of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies told JNS.
“This should worry every parent, teacher and policymaker,” the North American Values Institute stated.
The walkout was organized by Students for Justice in Palestine, which was protesting a commencement address given by Google’s CEO.
An advisory committee for the private liberal arts college stated that the measure lacked mission alignment, community consensus and financial viability.

“Regardless of how it is ultimately classified, incidents like this send shockwaves through the Jewish community,” Rabbi Noah Farkas of Jewish Federation Los Angeles told JNS.
Prosecutors said the man caused damage to both facilities before sending texts boasting about the vandalism.
A JNS analysis suggests that since New York City started telling the public only about percentage change in “confirmed” hate crimes year over year, it has suggested no change, but that if it reported data that way about “reported” hate crimes, there would be a 32% increase in anti-Jewish hate crimes in the city from March to May compared to last year.
“I’m seeing an intensity of antisemitic attacks,” Gov. Ned Lamont told JNS. “A lot of it is energized by what’s happening in the Middle East and on social media.”
The Los Angeles Police Department told JNS that there were 46 antisemitic hate crimes in the first five months of the year. Last year, it recorded 98 such incidents.
The New Haven Police Department told JNS that Paul Smith is accused of targeting three Jews, shoving a fourth person who tried to intervene, throwing a rolled-up newspaper at them and of having “pointed at the yarmulke one of the victims was wearing and slapped it off his head, causing it to fall on the ground.”
“Those who seek to advance the objectives of foreign terrorist organizations should expect a swift and coordinated response from federal law enforcement,” stated the U.S. attorney for the District of New Jersey.
The senior counsel appointment gives him a “green light” to develop new policies and initiatives, including a national antisemitism awareness tour, the longtime civil-rights attorney told JNS.
The former Missouri congresswoman stated that she has pledged to “bring an end to the U.S. military aid to Israel that enables genocide against Palestinians.”

“This vote isn’t about whether we should crush the Iranian regime. We should,” Rep. Josh Gottheimer stated. “This is about defending the Constitution.”
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz told JNS that it was “really important” to pass the measure, “given the explosive rise in antisemitism,” including violent attacks.
“I want to destroy their nuclear programs, their ballistic missile program, their drone programs and their terrorist proxy programs,” the congressman said of Iran. “But that said, you can’t leave the United States Congress in the dark any longer.”
“Advancing religious freedom protects a fundamental human right that underpins a nation’s security, economic prosperity and stability,” said the chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.
“These are not just numbers on a page but are lived experience of all Jewish Americans,” Rep. Brad Knott said, of Jew-hatred, on the House floor.
“It is critical that we work across party lines to stop and reverse this dangerous trend,” stated Sen. Jacky Rosen, co-chair of the Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism.
It is time for Israel to assert that alliances, even with the United States, must be reciprocal.

“The way I learned it, you sell on Rosh Hashanah and buy back on Yom Kippur,” said the “altar boy from Jersey City” who had the “chance to learn a little Yiddish.”
